The Anderson School Policies
Personal Conduct
We expect everyone at The Anderson School to treat others with the utmost respect. This expectation applies equally to the staff and teachers as well as students and their families. In lessons students are expected to pay attention to what their teacher is telling them, follow directions and do their best. We all have bad days. Here, we believe in the power of music to help us deal positively with challenging emotions. It is okay to be mad, but it is never okay to be mean. Be kind or leave.
Practicing
Learning an instrument involves time. The more time you spend on it, the more you learn. Nobody becomes a great musician without an enormous amount of effort. Here, we believe in a positive approach to practicing. Teachers and students work together to set practicing goals and achieve them. There is never a penalty for not practicing. No one should ever make you feel bad because you missed a goal.
Tuition
Private lessons are $57 for 30 minutes, $80 for 45 minutes and $104 for 60 minutes. The monthly tuition is based upon the number of lessons per month. For example, four, 30-minute lessons is billed as: 4 lessons x $57 each = $228 monthly payment. Tuition payments are due on the first of the month and deemed late if not received by the tenth of the month. Late payments are subject to a 10% late fee.
We are pleased to offer a discount of 10% for each additional instrument you wish to pursue.
Scheduling and Attendance
All scheduling is done through the front desk, not the individual teacher. The monthly tuition payment covers a standing weekly appointment whether you are in attendance or not. Each student is eligible for one makeup per calendar month. A 24-hour notice of nonattendance is required to be eligible for a makeup lesson. We do not guarantee makeup lessons. Once a makeup lesson has been scheduled you must attend the agreed upon day and time. If you do not or cannot attend the scheduled makeup class, the opportunity for a makeup is forfeited. Makeup lessons expire 30 days after the missed class. A tuition credit will only be granted if the cancellation comes from The Anderson School.
If you are not able to give a 24-hour notice for a missed class, we are happy to set up an online class at the regular lesson time.
Attendance is key to growth. If you are having a hard time making your weekly lesson, please allow us to work with you to find a time that is better suited to your schedule.
If a teacher is sick or on vacation, The Anderson School will provide a qualified substitute teacher for that session. Gaining the perspective of a different teacher can lead to some valuable insights.
Lesson Withdrawal
The Anderson School requires a 30-day paid notice of withdrawal if you wish to discontinue lessons. A notice of withdrawal must be sent via email to: LisaA@TheAndersonSchoolLG.com.
The Anderson School reserves the right to amend any of its policies at any time with appropriate notice to all current students and their families.
